LG executives hope it will be the tipping point for homes to adopt 3D technology. Hollywood celebrity Megan Fox made her first trip to the Middle East specifically for the launch.
LG’s Cinema 3D TV has nine screen formats which differ in sizes and settings. Prices range from Dh8,999 to Dh12,999.
“this year the GCC countries will probably near, if not surpass, 5 per cent econ-omic growth and consumer confidence is back,” said H. S. Paik, president of LG Electronics Gulf. “So when it comes to the adoption of new technologies this is bigger than any place else.”
LG’s Cinema 3D TVs use patented Film Patterned Retarded (FPR) technology, which the manufacturer says enhances the overall viewing experience and allow images to become sharper. It also has an option that allows instant 2D to 3D conversion, and includes the conversion of video games.
“Cinema 3D TV is effectively the most complete television available in the market today for TV viewing, gaming and online connectivity,” said K.W. Kim, president of LG Electronics Middle East and Africa.
“with its smart TV functions, LG opens up a whole new world of content to consumers.”
